I've just started fooling around with Macrame and made these for some of my supporters at Weight Watchers. The hand is because they are my "helping hands" and the angels, well, should be self-explanatory. Not religious angels; inspirational angels. These'll look a lot better after they've been used a bit and soften up (the key chains, not the angels----well, maybe both). I'm not using any pattern just free-form.
I made these for Bettina. She started work at our HQ just months before I started. She is originally from Germany and is returning home next week after being here 4 years. She'll work for our German office and still be part of our section, as well.
I wanted to give her something different and American. Plus, she's been in the south so I'm sure she had to learn the word "britches". I got this pattern from a post on KnittingNovices, a Yahoo group that I belong to. You can find the pattern at http://makeit.ladynthread.com/. The knitted instructions do have one error--when you start the decreases you need to knit one, then knit two together, yo, knit two together etc.. Also, the verse has a typo so look for that if you copy and paste. It's a very quick and easy pattern and I think this is an adorable idea. Thank you to lady_n_thread for sharing.
Now on to macrame key rings for my Weight Watcher buddies.
